Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)Mushroom

Besides shiitake, the most familiar medicinal mushroom may be the beautiful reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), well-known to Oriental pharmacy customers. ln'his book, Reishi Mushroom: Herb of spiritual Potency and Medicinal Wonder Sylvan Press, 1990), herbalist Terry Willard, Ph. D., explains that reishi was often used in fu zheng (pronounced foo-shen), a type of traditional Chinese immunotherapy. Willard's well-documented book describes the use of reishi in the treatment of cancer, heart diseases, allergies, insomnia, neuromuscular disorders, and diabetes.

Garuda’s Reishi Mycelium Biomass consists of a high protein food base totally permeated and digested by a dense growth of Ganoderma lucidum mycelium. The mycelium consumes the food materials as it synthesizes its own unique Ganoderma genetic compounds. After the mycelial biomass reaches maturity, the point at which the important compounds are at their peak, the biomass is harvested.
